Happy Christmas 2010!

Jesus: The best gift of all

This is the early beta version, just to make sure we have something up. [ed]

Here’s a snapshot of our year!

Anna: Has had another good year. Two highlights in Sept have been: passing her driving test on the first attempt, and going to the final of the Women's Rugby World Cup in London. She is still doing lots of youth work for her church. She shares a house with 2 friends, and works part-time as a teaching assistant for the visually impaired, and enjoying long weekends which are pretty full with church and rugby activities. She has had several interviews recently but hasn’t found quite the right thing to move on to yet.

Ben: In his final year at uni is living in a house with 4 girls and working hard. He went to Glastonbury again this summer, and later went camping in Cotswolds with friends. They are going to brave it again not long after Christmas round the Norfolk coast! Currently working hard on his dissertation, then apprehensive on what he’ll do next! He has a slot on the uni radio again - doing a show with a friend one evening a week.

Symon:  Still very busy at work, but enjoying doing a more technical programming role again. He spent 2 weeks in the summer with big boys’ toys - mini-diggers etc remaking our front drive. Now resplendent in coloured concrete. He has had the luxury of a car journey to work this autumn (see below) but in the New Year will return to the daily cycling to work across to other side of Norwich (Broadland Business Park, a round trip of nearly 18 miles).

Sue:  Still works as an LSA at a high school, 3 days/week. She had a very quiet autumn as she had an operation on her foot in Sept and was virtually confined to the house for 8 weeks. She is really grateful to everyone who visited and took her out during the time she couldn’t drive, you don’t realise the privilege of independence until you lose it!! Plenty of work again in the garden earlier in summer. We had a good crop of tomatoes this year: despite the snow we were picking them in the greenhouse til early Dec

It was a busy but fun summer, with nieces’ weddings in Oxford and Aberystwyth. S & S had 3 weeks in our caravan: New Wine North & East at Newark followed by 2 weeks near Alnwick, joined by Anna and Steve, Heather & Naomi. Beautiful scenery and good weather (mostly!!)

Church life continues to be very busy; Sue helped organise a very recent production of ‘Rock around the Flock’ – a modern take on the nativity, involving children and choirs from church and both the schools. Something quite new for our church and it seemed to be appreciated by the village.

Our love to you all, and God’s rich blessings for the year ahead!!  Sy, Sue, Anna & Ben xx
